Great quality flashlight, very good packaging
Bright light for one AA battery! I would recommend getting the 14500 Li-Ion battery since it's 3.7v compared to an alkaline at 1.5v. I have a 14500 that charges via USB on its way and will review it as well. I'm impressed enough with it to carry it on duty and I'm a die-hard S***mLight fan. The white cap on the right of the picture is a silicone glow-in-the-dark cap that allows the light to act as a lantern - bright enough for a small room or tent when light is on (not much light from it when glowing green). There are two spare o-rings and a lanyard included. A belt clip comes preattached to the light. The light output choices are low, medium, high, turbo and strobe. The light will remember your last choice providing you allow a two second off period when choosing your setting. The lumens for each are different for the type of battery you use. The first number is alkaline and the second is for the 14500 batrery: Low (3.7/16), medium (28/85), high (140/360), turbo (270/650) - there isn't a number for strobe, but it appears to be via the high setting. Run times also vary with battery and setting choices. The time chart shown in the instructions seem to contradict each other - I've attached a pic. I don't have actual field numbers yet. So, yes, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a bright light in a small package. Also, you can't beat the price!
This flash light is compact, light weight, and very well made. I have a small hand, and this flashlight is only as big as my palm size. It yields 4 different degree of lighting plus strobe. Because I use AA battery instead of 14500 battery, the difference between the 2 brightest setting is subtle. For the small size as it is, the 2 bright settings emit amazingly bright light. I like the lanyard and fluorescent diffuser, which are very thoughtful design. I can easily adjust the length of the lanyard or detach the flashlight from the lanyard as needed. The fluorescent diffuser allows me to easily find the flashlight in the dark. This is a great flashlight for my work and personal use.
My husband is fascinated with flashlights and he has many. This was an update of his favorite from years ago. It's bright light, light weight and small size make it a winner for carrying it in your pocket, or for me, in my purse. It's amazing how many times a flashlight comes in handy from finding something under the car's seat or using it to see the splinter in someone's palm. We gave these as gifts this year-everyone was a very happy recipient. Highly recommend.
I wont go into detail about specs those are already listed on this page, what i will say is that so far I have loved this light. I carry this flashlight on a lanyard around my neck all day long but i always wanted a bit more power and size. The flashlight fit the spot. It lit up a dark room for me to see and navigate comfortably. I did try a 14500 battery and it did turn tactical bright. The flashlight is small, easy to handle and very well built. Perfect EDC, this is the flashlight that I will give out as gifts from now on. In Conclusion: This is a good buy.
The size is ideal for pant pocket EDC flashlight. It is very solid and astonishingly light weight. Output is sufficiently bright with 14500, and it can also take the most widely available single AA battery in case of emergency. The diffuser is nice to play with thought it would be easy to lose.
The tool AA is a good pocket light. The light comes on a nice plastic case with extra o rings and lanyard. It also comes with optional magnetic cap and diffuser, the diffuser goes in the dark when charged with the light. Also comes with a Duracell AA. I used the light with 14500 lithium batteries and it's pretty bright in high, plenty bright in medium. The light feels nice and tight in hand, pretty compact. Also comes with anti reflective coating on the lens, not common for lights this size. One of my favorite advantages of this in light is the reversible clip, I can clip it on my cap for hands free use. This is a great light for the money. Better than other lights this size that cost 2x more too. I
The first thing I notice on this light was the crystal clear ar coated glass. I have carried this dayley for a week now next to my pocket knife and there is no evidence of that on the finish so far. Everything fits very tight and seems well built for the price. I was please with the output with a AA over the last week given it’s tiny size and ability to go unnoticed in your pocket. Today my 14500 battery showed up and wow. It’s got a lot of usable light on tap now and it’s smaller then my pinky. I am able to light up things in my yard 75ft away with ease on high. If your looking for and edc light in AA or 14500 I would highly recommend this flashlight.
I have been searching for a replacement for my Ultrafire MCU-C7, which is a very small and quite bright (~250 Lm) flashlight that uses CR123 batteries. this flashlight is quite small and very light (25% lighter than the Ultrafire) with a max 650 Lm (provided you use 14500 cells). It will also run on NIMh and Alkaline AA but with lower brightness (~ as bright as the Ultrafire). All in all, an excellent EDC flashlight and well worth the price. I should add that I had some questions (regarding the twist function) and the support has been excellent.
I lost my Surfire Backup light and needed a replacement of the same size and build quality. In this price range, most everything is inexpensive junk. This light however is very nice. Maybe not as sturdy as the Surfire but, if I lose/damage this one, I won’t be as heartbroken. It’s three settings are perfect and the inner glowing washer makes it easy to find if it’s dropped. The magnet is very strong and could ride outside a vehicle without falling off at speed. On top of all this it runs on plain ol AA batteries...something I can find at any store. This is amazing
Using this as an EDC light at a price I don't mind if I lose it. Better than other options at many times the price with the 14500 battery. Small enough to hide in your palm, like Streamlight this replaced. That is solved by the twist bezel, so only palm and two fingers are needed to twist it on and off when button is concealed by palm. Only "quirk" is mode change is off then on in under 2-3 seconds or so, which is too long. I'll accidentally change modes when turning it off, then needing to look at something again. Best Feature: Mode memory works when using both or either bezel or tailcap switch,
Understatement - I like this flashlight. What a little powerhouse! And with the mode memory, you have, in effect, four flashlights. There are four modes, low, medium, high, and turbo. Whatever mode is used last, it will stay there each time you turn it on. Love it! The build and look and functionality are superb. For such a small device, the amount of light it kicks out is just amazing - especially when using the 14500 battery. We have 'quite a few' flashlights. For me, this one beats them all. It has found a permant home in my pocket. Never realised how handy and useful a flashlight could be until this arrived. Tempted to get another one and would certainly recommend it to anyone.
This flashlight is the best you can buy in its class, period. Whether you're running AA batteries or 14500's, you will be pleased with the performance you get. The UI or User Interface, is intuitive and natural. Its compact size is deceiving when you turn it on and see just how bright it goes, while the "moonlight" mode is perfect for when you don't want to blind yourself with hundreds of Lumens (map reading, walking around the house late night, bedtime reading etc...). The light comes with a robust and removable pocket clip, a nicely made lanyard and a glow in the dark diffuser. I really can't convey how awesome this light is, you just have to buy one for yourself and I can guarantee you'll be happy with it. And hey, if you're not happy with it return it, what have you got to lose? It's right at home as an EDC (every day carry) light, a gift for someone you really like, a light to keep around the house that's always going to have batteries (who doesn't have some AA batteries laying around, right?), dog walking and the list goes on and on. I bought one of the old versions and then I bought 5 more. When I found out there was a new version, V2.0, I bought 5 right away. I'm not a flashlight "expert" I'm just a regular guy that likes flashlights. I own somewhere between 80-100 flashlights ranging in price from $5-$300 and none of them impress me as much as this amazing flashlight for "bang for your buck". You simply won't find a better light at this price. I hope this helps and remember what Plato said "We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light"
Excellent flashlight. Very bright for its size.
This is a cool little AA sized light, but also accepts a higher voltage 14500 lithium ion battery. It's super lightweight making it easy to clip in your pocket. You don't even know it's there. The quality seems top-notch and the threads are square cut and very smooth. The threads are anodized which allows you to manually lock out the battery to prevent it from accidentally turning on in your pocket. It's got a simple mechanical switch on the end for on/off, then a half press cycles through the three brightness modes. It always starts on low then goes to medium then High with no memory. I tested the output on my calibrated Texas_Ace Lumen Tube. With a Duracell AA: Low 7 lm Med 55 lm High 90 lm With a protected Evva 14500 (800mah): Low 8 lm Med 80 lm High 450 lm I recommend using a rechargable 14500 due to the much higher output and then use a AA should you run out of juice and can't recharge it. Either is fine depending on your needs. The Cree xpl emitter has a nice cool white beam with no blue in it. I really like the color rendition it provides. Maybe it's a bit between neutral white and cool white. There is the faintest yellow tint in the middle of the hotspot. It's hard to notice on anything but a white wall. Some people will probably not even see it. I wish all my cool white lights had this exact color. In the package you get a pocket clip, extra o-rings, a glow in the dark diffuser cap and a lanyard. You can easily reverse the clip just by switching the battery tube around plus you won't scratch the light. Lumintop also has a version that includes a AA battery and a flat tail cap. One one hand, the flat cap has a magnet which can be handy. On the other hand, you have to twist the cap back and forth to turn on and cycle through the modes. I'm not a fan of that, but it's nice to have both end caps. I give it 5 stars.
I always wanted a small pocket flashlight that could be fit in my purse. When I received it, I was so surprised that it was the flashlight that I wanted. The built quality is good, strong and sturdy. It’s brighter than I expected. Strongly recommend buying it.
Excellent light with all the options I could want in one small package! I have the option to use it with a tail clicky switch or by twisting the head to scroll through the UI. There is an included tail cap that shortens the length of the light and adds a magnet. Ive included pics of both options beside an AA battery for size reference. Also includes a silicone GITD diffuser for using the light as a lantern or lamp also with great output. The diffuser seems to glow for a long time. Also comes with the option to carry with lanyard and a removable pocket clip that can be oriented in lens up or lens down carry. Excellent if you’re like me and like to clip your light to the bill of a ball cap and use as a headlamp. You also have multiple battery options which is just great! When using the light with a 14500 the output is outstanding! And to top it all off, it even comes with a Duracell AA making this thing ready to go right out of the box! Order this light! You will not be disappointed! It’s the best AA flashlight in any price range in my opinion!
Simply amazing quality, versatility, and light throw for the price. Paired with and EBL Li-ion battery it's just amazing how versatile this tiny package can be. it's little brother the AAA Tool is almost as good. The AAA Tool is smaller than this AA Tool, with similar light outputs from normal batteries. The AA Tool throws longer distance beam than the AAA Tool can, and with Li-ion batteries it is far brighter ( an longer lasting for comparable brightness). For my camping use the Low-Med-High (and NO strobe) sequence is perfect. Both glow in the dark features are nice for in-tent location after usage. The diffuser is great for lantern use, especially in tent and even after it's turned OFF. The twist off capability is necessary for backpacking, where a accidental tail click can drain your battery. Having both magnet, and click tailcaps included allows you to tune for size, function or taste, and to easily adapt to the expected use as that use evolves.
Love carrying this in my pocket. It’s small and very light yet rugged. I run 14500 batteries in it and it throws plenty of light for those everyday needs. Run time is pretty much as advertised and better or as good as most of its competitors. No issues whatsoever with this light. The tail switch is very responsive and a light half press changes output modes. It takes a full press to turn it on and it’s never turned on in my pocket by accident. At this price it is a fantastic value without sacrificing quality. You really can’t go wrong. I own much more expensive EDC lights but this is the one I carry.
I purchased this as an inexpensive pocket flashlight, and was delighted out of the box. It was well put together and came with a couple of extra o-rings and a battery. Nice. I honestly think the inclusion of a AA battery may be a bad choice, though, because when I initially turned it on it cycled to low power mode. I didn't immediately recall that the product description had mentioned three power levels, and the AA battery can only run the low and medium brightness levels, so I was a little disappointed until I reread the description and realized that it needs a 14500 battery to really shine. After swapping the AA out for a 14500, this flashlight meets all of my expectations, and is fantastic to have on hand. This is a must have, for me!
Great small flashlight. Bright and well made. My flashlight's mode order is Low/Medium/High not Medium/Low/High as listed. I prefer Low/Med/High output mode order. It is a win for me. Can not discern any PWM on low and medium settings. Just received the latest 2.0 version of the light. Much brighter when using a eneloop battery now. When using 14500 lithium batteries flashlight does reach 650-750 lumens as stated.
Very good EDC light with four modes and last mode memory. Beam pattern very useable for everyday tasks and bright enough to be considered tactical I suppose. Only minor knock I have against it would be how sensitive the tail switch is if you’re not used to using momentary mode. I find it a little touchy but that’s very subjective and not worth deducting a star over. A piece of advice - just go ahead and order some rechargeable 14500 batteries too when you order this or you’ll eat through AA cells like crazy if you use it with any regularity like I do, plus you won’t be getting the full potential out of this light if you don’t.
Love this little light!!! Just received it yesterday so time will tell as far as longevity and reliability. I have a Streamlight Strion and Streamlight Pro Stylus which I carry everyday at work. This Lumintop light feels very nice as far as quality and the light is plenty bright. I'm using a 14500 battery for max(turbo) light. It's unbelievable such a small light can deliver such bright light. I think it's a little bright than the Strion but not as focused. The color is a bit yellowish but not the end of the world. I definitely would recommend!!!
I have been collecting high end lights for a couple of years.I wanted a small AA light that would run a 14500 battery as well a a standard AA battery. While running on AA batteries the light output is good for most task but run the 14500 battery and you will be amazed. The beam is considered floody which I prefer in a small flashlight.I'm very picky about my lights and I can say I couldn't find anything to complain about while using this flashlight.By the way,it's small enough to fit in your pocket and the clip is reversible so you can clip it on the bill of a cap which I find very handy.
This flashlight is tiny but packs a punch. I cant believe how bright it gets. Downside is it does get a little hot while in the highest setting. But most of my high powered flashlights do as well, so for me it isnt a huge deal. The light diffuser silicone top that goes on the flashlight is extremely bright when inserted on the flashlight. Pretty cool add on. Lights up my entire living room with blinding light. Dont look directly at it. I took a picture of a darkened stairwell where I live then lit it up on the highest setting and it was insane how much you could see every detail. As far as length I tried it in trees about 50 yards away and it lit them up like Christmas trees. Overall extremely pleased with this flashlight.
Buy this flashlight cause hear the earthquake almost every month after few search and saw a video found out this. Excellent light I could put in one small package! There is an included tail cap that shortens the length of the light,an AA battery Excellent if you’re like me and like to clip your light to the bill of a ball cap and use as a headlamp. You also have multiple battery options which is just great! When using the light with a 14500 the output is outstanding very bright. You will not be disappointed! It’s the best AA flashlight in this price range in my opinion
OK I just got this light a few hours ago and I don't have the rechargeable battery to get the most light out if it yet. That being said even on a AA alkaline battery it is really bright. The fit and finish is very good and it feels very good in my hands. I wish I would have ordered the optional magnetic tail cap for carrying it in my pocket. I can't wait till the other battery gets here to see this thing at full power. It is impressive with just the AA battery in it. I like the fact that it comes on in the same mode that you turned it off in and not always in turbo mode first then have to dim it down and possibly ruin your night vision. So far so good!!!
Great light for the price. It will be on the dog leash for late night walks. I went with a high lumen as a deterent against any would be attackers. It’s been hard to find a small edc flashlight with a tail switch instead of a head turn function/side button AND a memory function. It has all levels as advertised and the memory feature works. This may be a bit larger than many edc flashlights but the features (switch, high lumen, and memory) combined with the easy user interface (button is better than some other edc switches) makes it a keeper. For reference, I have Fenix LED flashlights for home and car use and have tried edc lights from 4 other manufacturers. My only concern is whether the finish will hold up. But at this price, quality, and size, I’ll take it.
