Jesse Jacobs We got this for our new puppy and it’s perfect. Metal so he can’t chew though it and a safety lock so we can close it and he can’t get in/out. The lock does require some coordination or two hands as it’s on the top and bottom of the top part of the gate and you have to push two different directions to work it (that would be good for kids). There are screw-like tighteners to lock it in place and I found that I just need to occasionally need to check and tighten them because the constant in and out will loosen the gate eventually. Luckily, the lock has a green for locked, red for unlocked type of warning so when I started seeing the red after the gate was closed, I just tightened up the screws on all sides. There’s little plastic knobs you can lower on the bottom of the opening side so you can control which way the gate swings too, but I’ve only used them once - I tend to open the gate whichever direction I need to go, but it would be perfect for a child that’s constantly leaning or needs to learn one way in/out. No matter what, this is a great buy and let’s my cat in and out while keeping the puppy where I want him. :)
Lynda Sparks We bought this one to serve double duty for our toddler and 95 lb dog. It has held up great the year we have had it. Never had issues with it coming out of place, toddler hasn’t learned to use it, easy installation. Not much more you could ask for.

Brandi Perkins I love this gate so freaking much you can't even imagine. It helped me get my dog out of his crate and into the big open kitchen while we're away. It's super super sturdy since he's always jumping on it and it still hasn't budged. He scratched at it, yet not a single chip in the paint. Most negative reviews you see are user error or confusion about what kind of doorway it fits. I'm hoping this gate fits wherever I move because I know it'll last ages! For that price? It's worth it. Get this gate!!!
